Getting Involved |
CHEC meets the second Monday of the month. There is always something going on. Come join us for fun,fellowship and to learn about what is going on in your community. CHEC meetings are also a great place to find the answers to any home schooling issues you may have.

Homeschooling Answers |
|
InTexas, a homeschool is considered a private school. Private schools are not regulated by the state at this time. Parents are required to keep a written curriculum of reading, spelling, grammar, math and good citizenship. You must follow that curriculum in a bona fide manner. It is wise to join a homeschool community, but not required. The state of Texas does not have a set number of days per year that private schools must be in session. The state of Texas also does not require testing of private school students. Annual tests are however, available.

CHEC offers achievement testing for parents wanting to keep tabs. Proctors are volunteers, but you must order and pay for your tests. |
